Shelly Jean John with forest background

About Me

I have always had a passion for helping and empowering others. After completing my undergraduate degree in Communications and Political Science, I was intrigued by the challenges and opportunities of a legal career and decided to pursue that wholeheartedly. I'm so glad to have made that decision, as through my education and professional experience, I have truly felt time and again that this is my calling.

My Legal Background

Since graduating from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 1998, I have been proudly serving individuals and families across Southern California with high-quality legal services in the area of family law. I opened my own firm in 2000, and to expand the services I was able to offer clients, became a trained mediator and completed Interdisciplinary Collaborative Training with SCPG.

We are all here to impact humanity in a different way, and this is my way of helping those who are going through a hard time.

Why Choose the Law Office of Shelly Jean John?

I love helping people come up with creative, outside-the-box solutions to fit their unique needs. With over two decades of experience working in family law, I have helped my clients successfully work through mediation and collaborative divorce methods to help them resolve their issues out of court.

I understand that not everything can be resolved through those approaches, so I offer varying levels of legal service to meet the needs and means of every potential client. Whether a client needs a Lawyer For a Day, ongoing legal coaching, or full representation, I can help them find a way forward.
